Many of you received may have received messages from UNH or other email list-servs regarding a Microsoft Windows Critical Patch that was released yesterday. Typically, this only occurs when Microsoft has identified a severe security problem. – in this case a pretty nasty virus that has the potential of spreading quickly.
ITS began installing this critical update on PSU laptops and desktops last night and will continue to monitor the situation to ensure that all PSU resources are protected by the most up-to-date patch available.
However, your home and personal computers are also vulnerable. ITS recommends that users install this patch as quickly as possible on all windows-based personal and home computers.
Follow these steps to install the latest Windows Security Updates on your home or personal computer:
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Go to Tools.
3. Click on Windows update.
